Things to bring and the wading conditions.
-
Seven and eight weight 9’ rods floating lines and flies, pink or orange
Crazy Charlie’s and some puff’s all 10’ and 8’s (mostly
10’s).
-
Throw in some Crab imitations as well as they do see the odd Permit (I
haven’t
as yet)
-
Good wading boots with gators, some of the area’s are muddy or have
Marl patches, the initial walk out is over lot’s of coral.

-
Bug spray as the mosquitoes can be bad when going through the mangroves;
small but mean little buggers!
-
Gifts for the guides; they don’t have much gear, and even
if they had the money (which they don’t) to purchase products
there is nothing available. I and others have equipped them with fly
rods, reels, lines and last year a tying vice and some material, but
they can always use more especially leaders, tippet, hooks and materials.
Last year Lloyd and I gave Orlando and Pastor our wading
boots. They were walking out over that coral in light beach boots.
